Morning
Upon your arrival in Tokyo, we will meet you at Haneda Airport to join up with your tour leader
and fellow cyclists, after which we will head to our downtown hotel to check in. The focus of our
first day is on gathering and acclimatizing; no cycling activities are scheduled, ensuring
everyone has ample time to rest, adjust to the local pace, and prepare for the classic Kanto
cycling adventure that awaits over the coming days.
Evening
In the evening, we will host a welcome dinner—a perfect opportunity to formally meet your fellow
travelers. Amidst a relaxed atmosphere, we will enjoy a delicious meal while outlining the trip's
itinerary, discussing important cycling safety tips, and highlighting the key features of our
route.
Morning
After breakfast, we depart from Tokyo and head to the foot of Mount Fuji to embark on the first
official cycling leg of our journey. Today's theme is the Fuji Five Lakes. This region is one of
Japan's most iconic cycling destinations; while the overall route features relatively gentle
terrain with minimal elevation changes, the scenery is incredibly diverse and rich. As you cycle,
Mount Fuji will constantly appear in your field of view from various angles, with the lakeshores,
roadways, forests, and distant mountains weaving together to create a stunning tapestry—making for
a perfect day to capture photos and immerse yourself fully in the beauty of nature.
Afternoon
We will pause for lunch along the route, and after a brief rest, we will complete the cycling
segment around Lake Yamanaka before heading to Hakone to check into our hotel.
Morning
Today, our cycling adventure continues in Hakone. After breakfast, we depart from the hotel and
ride along the eastern shore of Lake Ashi and the surrounding mountain roads, experiencing the
unique topography of Hakone—a region where hot springs and mountain trails intertwine. In contrast
to the expansive, open landscapes of the Fuji Five Lakes region we explored yesterday, today's
ride in Hakone offers a more distinct "mountain cycling" feel. The route takes us through forest
paths, along the lakeshore, and up to high-altitude scenic viewpoints; while the distance is
relatively short, the terrain features plenty of undulating hills and elevation changes.
Afternoon
At midday, we will make a stop at the Daikanzan Observation Deck—one of the most classic and
renowned vantage points for viewing both Lake Ashi and Mount Fuji in the distance.
Morning
After breakfast, we set off for West Izu to begin what promises to be the most challenging—and
most memorable—cycling segment of our entire journey. The first half of today's route follows the
road running alongside the Kano River before gradually transitioning into the mountain roads,
where the ascent officially begins. As the elevation steadily rises, the panoramic views gradually
open up before you.
Afternoon
Upon arriving at the Mt. Daruma Observatory, you can gaze down from a high vantage point to behold
a breathtaking vista where Mount Fuji and Suruga Bay appear framed together in a single
magnificent scene. This is widely regarded as one of the most iconic landscapes along the West Izu
Skyline.
Morning
After breakfast, pack your belongings; you will be provided with a group transfer to Haneda
Airport based on your flight schedule. With this, our classic Kanto cycling tour—a journey weaving
together the scenic wonders of Mount Fuji, Hakone, Izu, and the region's lakes—officially comes to
a close. From the world-class cycling scenery surrounding Mount Fuji to the undulating mountain
roads of the hot spring resort town of Hakone, and finally to the dramatic interplay of mountains
and sea along the West Izu Skyline, this route encapsulates and showcases nearly all of the most
quintessential cycling charms the Kanto region has to offer. After enjoying breakfast at the hotel
early in the morning, we will pack our belongings and then
travel by vehicle back to Osaka. Along the way, we will take one last look at the scenic
mountains and seascapes of the Kii Peninsula, bringing this cycling and hiking journey along the
Kumano Kodo to a perfect conclusion.
